Open House #2 was held on February 12, 2024 at Larkin Township Hall.

A series of 11 presentation boards were available for public review throughout the open house event.  Representatives from Rowe Professional Services Company and the Midland County Road Commission were available to discuss a series of proposed designs that incorporate various options. 

At 6pm a presentation took place which explained why the study is being conducted, walked-thru the study timeline, discussed the results from the survey that was conducted after open house #1, discussed the various proposed designs that incorporated feedback from survey #1, discussed a 'no-build' option and answered questions.  Attendees were encouraged to provide feedback and answer questions by either filling out a paper survey form or completing the identical online/web survey.

All members of the community are encouraged to review the Open House #2 Presentation Boards below and complete Public Feedback Survey #2.

Feedback received from stakeholders and the public will be used to develop a Preferred Alternative and a 'No-Build' Alternative which will both be included in the final study report.

Stakeholder Meeting #1 was held on December 11, 2023 at Midland County Road Commission.

Representatives from Rowe Professional Services Company and the Midland County Road Commission worked together to identify appropriate stakeholders in the project area. Stakeholders include, among others, government agencies, merchants, community groups, and organizations affected by, or interested in, potential Letts Road development.

Additional Stakeholders

Residents and individuals affected by, or interested in, potential Letts Road development are also stakeholders. Specific efforts have been made to involve residents, individuals, and the general public throughout the study process. Due to the large quantity of these stakeholders, open house events and online surveys were chosen as the methods most likely to successfully produce engagement.

Rowe Professional Services Company, on behalf of the Midland County Road Commission (MCRC), is conducting a study of the Letts Road corridor to evaluate the potential redevelopment of a through roadway connecting Jefferson Road to Waldo Road.

The study will review impacts to adjacent residences, businesses, properties, and the environment in addition to the operations of the surrounding transportation network. The community will have the opportunity to learn about and participate in the development of this project. Conceptual designs and alternatives will be developed that seek to enhance vehicle and non-motorized flow, improve safety, and create a functional corridor that improves connectivity in Larkin Township, Midland County, and the Great Lakes Bay Region.
